hi.

Just installed zimbra and trying to catch up the calendaring system of zimbra. I have a question.

I have create two users: user1 and user2. After logging from user1, I have added 5 new appointments. Now if I login from user2, how do I see the appointments of user1.

In user1 right click the calendar > share.
In user2 accept the share email and it will mount.

(If you need CLI/JAVA/SOAP methods let us know.)

Is there anyway to allow the calendar of all users of the domain to everyone in the same domain?

Not from the user UI at the moment, unless you have a distribution list (aka group) will all members of the domain in it.

So you'd start with:
zmmailbox -z -m share@domain.com mfg /Calendar domain domain.com r

That would give everyone permission but not mount the item.
To see it they'd need to right click the word 'calendars' just under 'new calendar' > select 'link to shared calendar' > enter the info.

Or you could provision with:
zmmailbox -z -m user@domain.com cm --view appointment /SharedCal share@domain.com /Calendar

I suggest NOT using -i for 'invite' as there'll be confusion on older systems in which it stood for 'inherit permissions' as well as confusion with 'insert permission' in rwidxa etc.

In 5.0.x we removed the inherit flag from folder grants, and subfolder permission inheritance is now always TRUE. To prevent inheriting you must share the parent folder, then unshare each of the children by setting an explicit ACL on each of them.

Thanks a lot . These are what I am looking for.

Is there any way to apply the following command to the distribution list. It seems like I have to do one by one to all the distributions lists users.

I figured out the answer to my previous question. One last question.

Inside from web client, is it possible to search users and view their calendars? Adding each and everyone's calendar might be a tedious task to the users. Is there any search facility (as we can search contacts) ?

This does _not_ show you the information, but it _does_ show you if/when someone is busy. Try this:

(obviously you would change the URL to your server and the "username@yourdomain.com" to a valid email address... but it generates an html page with the user's calendar... and you can move around, change dates, etc. But again, maybe not quite what you were after...

So my understanding is I can't do a search directly to view calendars of other memebers from the search box in my web client. Right?

Not as far as I know... it's what I suggested (fmt-busy), or a busy-search, or have their calendar shared/viewable
