Zimbra and sunbird?

I'm working on adding Sun's WCAP protocol to Zimbra, which would allow read/ write calendars from Lightning. Come to the wiki page.

Looks promising! Maybe a stupid question, but will this provide a login/pass to remote write access? How user friendly will the end result be from within Zimbra Web Client? Will user have a "Publish read/write WCAP CAL remotely" option?

So far Sunbird is working great, in both directions.
The biggest issue I can see is the extra options that are in Sunbird like the reminder times for Specific events. I have not tested all these options and I don't know which options will be saved on the server or not.

End Users won't pay attention. So if I use Sunbird as a substitute for the ZimbraToaster they will set these options and get upset if they dont work.

I'll try to post more on this. I may start a new thread on this.

Hi, is there more recent update since october, or does this work with 4.5? Apparently 4.5 has caldav support which should work with sunbird, there was a URL posted elsewhere in the forums but I couldn't get it to work.

Curious myself. The forums seem to suggest that CalDAV is not a part of 4.5, unless I'm missing something....

Hello everyone,

I am unable to delete calendar entries remotely via Sunbird. I can rename events and tasks and change their properties, but not delete.

Any way to get it working or has this feature simply not available?

Using Sunbird 0.8 and ZCS 5.0.6, I have to "cancel" an appointment instead of "deleting" an appointment:
