About Distribution Lists...

Hi guys,

I created several Distribution LIsts and I configured GAL for my domain in internal.
Why my Distribution List doesn't appears (with members) when I make a search from my web client?
Well I decided to search it normally (by pressing on the "To" buttons). Great It is good but I have the same occurence two times!!

Can you tell what's wrong??

When you search in the TO you should only see each distro once. This is the way I see it testing here. If you list the distro lists in the admin UI do they appear only once?

What version of zimbra are you running?

Yes it is what I don't understand...
In my Admin UI, I created Distro list only once. For example, it@domain.com.
And When I'm looking for it in the TO, it appears twice.
Well it is not a big problem but I just want to understand ;-)

My version is 3.0.1_GA_160.REHL4.

And is it posssible to list the distro list for the clients?

Not now. You must search. The easy way to get all is search on . so a single dot.

And I saw that wgen I ceate a Distro Lists, the email (E) attribute is filled but the email2 (E2) too.

How to avoid this?

I think it is the reason that I have two times my distro list when I searched it!!

Yes, sorry!!
I will give you more details.

When I looking for my distro list from the Web client by selecting GAL in the "search" toolbar.

For example:
I'm looking for "sales@domain.com". I click on "contact button" from the Web Client. then I use the search function by selecting GAL just before and I enter "sales@domain.com" and finally <ENTER>.
It find one occurence and when I click on the detailed card view, I can see:
NAME_SALES

E sales@domain.com
E2 sales@domain.com

I have for configure GAL for domain.com with external LDAP and internal.
But I have no lists defined in my LDAP directory!!

Well I think that it is possible to solve the problem by defining GAL for my domain only with external LDAP. It is not a problem for me but how can create a distro list recognize by zimbra? May I put the zimbra schema? but Have you got a LDIF file for example to create one?

Just create it like an email address but use ; to separate each address.

OK I will try to write a LDIF file.

But Do you have the same behaviour when you create a distro list?
Have you got an idea why E2 is filled too?

I don't see the problem. At this time our GAL is set to internal.
