Briefcase Features Confusion

Hi All,

I was evaluating Zimbra 5.0.9. It is currently running in our organization in a test environment.
When evaluating Breifcase feature of Zimbra from the feature-list, it showcases two features which are "Attachments as documents" and "Documents as attachments". From the explanation they seem to be very confusing.

Can someone please explain how to see this feature from UI? Also it would be nice if someone can explain what is the difference between them.

Also are files in Briefcase version controlled?
