zimbra authenication fails

hi,

Had to create a new ssl certificate as the old one had expired now only admin can login to zimbra suite.

mailbox.log shows this:

[ip=127.0.0.1;ua=zclient/5.0.0_RC1_1538.DEBIAN4.0;] SoapEngine - handler exception: authentication failed for <username>@domain

using ldap server on a another server but made no changes other than new certificate

Any clues on what to look for?
