Default Audible Alert Possible?

Hello --- Couldn't find this anywhere, so I'd like to ask if its possible to get the open source Win version of the suite to play a blip or other WAV sound when an appointment is nigh?

My PC triples up as an audio editor and basic animation machine, and Zimbra is not always the top window on my screen. If I could get my machine to go "BORK" when an appointment is scheduled to start, my life would be infinitely easier.

Does this do it now? Can it? Thank you.

Audio alerts were added in Zimbra 5.0.8, released July 15. If you don't see a checkbox for "Play a sound (requires QuickTime or Windows Media plugin)" in Preferences->Calendar, your server needs to be updated.

Hi Guys,

am I the only one who has trouble with this?

What I mean is, I have installed the Quicktime software that I downloaded from here;

Apple - QuickTime - Download

( The none iTunes version ).

And although this worked fine on my first attempt with my main PC, when I have installed it on a second PC, every time Zimbra tries to play the sound Firefox crashes!

If I disable the sound notification then Zimbra works perfectly again.

I thought it might just be the one machine so tried it again on a third work PC today and the same thing happens!

I have set Quicktime to handle .wav files now too as I thought this might be it but it still crashes.

What am I doing wrong please?

Zimra NE 5.0.9, CentOS 5.1, Firefox 3.0.3.

Thanks all
