Default Exporting from Outlook Express

Greetings.

I'm searching through forums and documentation for information on how to help users of Outlook Express migrate to using the web client. The migration tools for Outlook are great, but I can't find any documentation that points out how to get all the contacts and messages etc. from Outlook Express to import to Zimbra web.

If it does or doesn't exist -- perhaps at the top of any documentation explaining what to do for outlook - a tiny blurb can say "for info on outlook express go here..." to help us n00bies save time searching for the end of the rainbow.

Default Migrate OE to Zimbra

I have the same question as the OP.

I have one user that has been using OE, and I need to get his mail onto Zimbra. The Outlook tools are excellent, BTW. I am trying the following right now, so you might try this too...

Export the messages in OE to Outlook. If Outlook is not on the user's PC, install temporarily to facilitate the export. (See MAPI error messages when you import or export messages in Outlook Express)

Then run the Zimbra PST Import Wizard.

I'm thinking that should do the trick.

Good luck.

Not ideal, but at least that's a logical option. Thanks for that!

You're quite welcome, and I agree. It's not an elegant solution, but it does work.

It worked quite well for me, and my OE user is now up & running on Zimbra Desktop.
