Default External IM Accounts?

Can you do this with IM beta?

Thanks.

The Network Edition has IM Interop - at this time just YIM (Click the Y! logo on the bottom right of the IM tab) AIM & MSN are technically possible through protocol extensions but I haven't checked into that in a while.

However, if you're using the Open Source Edition you can still add any XMPP friends (I can add buddies from ZCS>gmail & gmail>ZCS with no problem/get invites at the other end) - SRV records are good to have.

OK, but adding a new friend only has Zimbra Locoal as a selection, so how do you invite?

None of my buddies seem to be getting saved between logouts?

Thanks.

New buddy takes care of invites (big button in upper left or right click locations).
Once you add them, they won't appear in your list on next login till they approve the invites. (I suppose we should display them with a different 'waiting for approval' icon.)
Did you see a green 'waiting for x to accept your request' at the top of the screen when you added them?

Bug 23923 - Buddies disappear from list
The bug was originally opened for other things but see comment #5:
Quote:
If I invite a buddy and he never responds, then the next time I log in he's not in the buddy list.
