Default wildcard searches not always working

I have frequently had a search fail to pull up emails that it should have when I use * as part of the search. For example, I just tried a search for emails to *km-plaza.com which drew up nothing. When I searched specifically for to tmcie@km-plaza.com, three were pulled up- all specifically to the searched address. What I needed though was to find all emails from that domain (there are many more to other users). I have frequently run into this problem. Please advise.

We are running Zimbra Collaboration Suite- Network edition- version 5.04.
