Make task from email?

Is there any way to auto-add a 'task' based on an email?

i.e. I have an email come in, with something I need to do. I press a button, and a new task is created with a matching subject and body.

several, sort of.

outlook 2007 will do just that -- but has so many usability, reliability, and performance problems that I can't recommend it.

you can drag-drop the email to a specific date on the minicalendar -- but you need to be careful to remove mailing lists from the invite list, and the todo concepts of priority and %complete aren't supported.

there were some RFEs to do something similarly useful when you drag-drop items to the Tasks tab. not sure of current status.

depending on exactly how you want to manage your todos, you can do a lot of creative things with flags, folders, and tags. members of david allen's Getting Things Done" cult have written about this at length. note that you can create keyboard shortcuts for tags & folders in zimbra preferences. note that a message may be in only one folder at a time, but may have an arbitrary number of tags.

BTW - It's shift then DnD the mail to the mini-cal to create a task with that date.

But just realized it uses that for a start date but the end date is set to the current day.
Thus you get a "can't have end date after start date" on close.

HI, I would like to create a zimbra task from an external email system, such as hotmail, etc. Is there any way to format an email message so that it will be seen as a task creation in zimbra?
