Scrolling the reading pane with the keyboard

How can I read messages using the reading pane without using the mouse? The up and down arrows move between messages. I recall that in pre 5.0.7, you could click in the reading pane and then use the arrows to scroll. I have a user that wishes to scroll in the reading pane without having to use the mouse and scroll bar widgets.

Tabbing down to the message area works for me.

Testing with FF3 & 5.0.7 - and apparently mouse click inside reading pane doesn't bring focus down - could you file a bug?

Can anyone chime in on that bug that it used to work to click on the reading pane area to change focus region?

That got marked a dupe of Bug 28850 - Cannot shift focus to message body which is fixed in 5.0.9 (note FF vs IE differences).
