Default [SOLVED] Changing the "Sent By" name

Our executive assistant is tasked with sending out emails as the president of the company. Since our philosophy at this company is to fool the unwitting cubicle jockeys who are too stupid or politically challenged to understand that somebody else can send items for the president we need to have all emails the assistant sends in the president's name actually HAVE the president's name in all areas:

- From field
- Sent by
- Reply to

However, even after setting the assistant to "Allow sending email from any address" whenever she sends a message using the president's persona, it still has the assistant's name as the "Sent by"

Is this a functional limitation? How do I work around it? I am tired of people hating on me because Zimbra doesn't cook the coffee their exact shade of brown.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

I used to have that info in my sig. I don't know how it got blown out.

It is Version 5.0.4_GA_2101.MACOSXx86.NETWORK Mar 21, 2008 running on a 2x dual core Xserve.

The user has the persona for the president set up. As far as some people remember it seemed to work before, including my boss and I! But memory can be fickle!

Any help/insight is appreciated.

Default Changing the "Sent By" name-Solved?

Alright! I seem to have found the solution: after the "send from any address" preference is set, the field for the from address opens up for typing any address desired--not just ones from the user's aliases list.

This corrects the user being identified in the "Sent By" field.

Thanks!
Chris

In case you don't want to leave it full blown open you should be able to set 'allow sending from these address':

The on-behalf of feature when replying to mail in a shared folder is another thing...

Where is this "send from any address" option? I'm using Zimbra web client and want to set up multiple account to both send and receive -- using their own addresses. It seems to insist on using the same outgoing mail server and username.

The "Send from any address" feature is in the Admin Console under the user's in the Preferences tab.

I have it set up now the way mmorse indicated above. You can send and receive completely, using this configuration, but you can't change the outgoing mail server unless you are using an external mail account.

Default um, where?

I'm not seeing it. As I said, I'm using the Zimbra web client. I click on the Preferences tab. Then I click on Accounts (sorry -- I don't see Users or Admin Console). I can change the name for From: but not the email address. I can change the Reply to name and email address. How do I change the From: email address?

The Admin UI is at https://yourserver.com:7071 - if you're not the Administrator then you'll have to get them to change the option for you.

Thanks, Bill. I'll ask our Administrator to do it.
