Select Address subwindow - searching partial names

IN the Select Address window, which you get when you click to TO: button in a new compose:

- how can you search on a partial name? Or use wildcards?
- is there an option to just search both the GAL and the contact list?

Most of my users use Horde/Imp/Turba now, and it's nice (as horde does) to have the Select Addres pre-populate with what is in the Contact list at least- no sense leaving an empty box that you have to put in exact matches on names.....


The GAL seems to be just the 'users' of that domain, is that correct? I've read about how there is not a 'real' GAL that can contain contact info that all users across a domain can see (like Exchange), but I'm not sure.

When search the GAL you can use a * wildcard. So "kev*" will give you Kevin matches. At this time there is no way to search both in that dialog. You can pick which one to search on the right.

The GAL is all users. By default it points to the internal LDAP of Zimbra so it's all Zimbra users. If you configure it to point to a corp LDAP or your Active Directory, it will allow you to search on all the users in those directories.

I've noticed that if I use the wildcard '.' it retuns all contacts, but only the first 50. Is there anyway to get all the contacts to return?
