Default Multiple $label entries under tags

For some reason, I have 5 entries under tags (not counting my real ones that work...)
they are
$label1
$label2
$label3
$label4
$label5

I delete them, and sometime later they return..

No idea where to start looking for this issue.... Pointers anyone?

Cheers

Zimbra version/release? Do you use any external IMAP/POP3 clients?

hi Bill,

zimbra@zimbra01:~$ zmcontrol -v
Release 5.0.2_GA_1975.UBUNTU6 UBUNTU6 FOSS edition

And yes, the account in question has external POP3 account configured...

$labelX come from Thunderbird, which pretends to be an IMAP client but really wants to do its own thing. When you change a label name or color in tbird, you're only changing it locally; the names you choose aren't sent to the server. If I remember correctly, tbird 2 allows more tags but retains the label1-5 of 1.x.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear in my question. I meant do you use any fat clients to connect to your Zimbra server via IMAP/POP3. Rich has already answered the question though, it's a problem with Thunderbird - are you using that to connect to your server?

So if I delete the labels and not use firefox again, it should not reoccur?
