Hi,

while discussing the feature-list with one of our clients there came up several questions which are currently not supported by Zimbra and could be improved.

So here we go

1. When creating a new mail there's no possibility to select contacts by Tag
2. When searching for a contact in private contacts or GAL you have to enter a specific searchstring. There's no possibility to get a complete listing of all contacts - especially whlile creating a distribution list this is very anoying.
3. While browsing Contacts (in contact view) and marking more than one contact the context-menu item "Mail" is disabled (this could have been a workaround for #1)
4. Also in context-menu there should be a option to add multiple contacts to one group.

This is bug 14531: GAL via contacts folders with sorting, browsing and real sync

Vote early and often. It's on the list for 5.5 but not yet targeted.

The suggestion on selecting multiple contacts and using the "New Mail" context menu is Bug 5374. A comment in there notes, " I do question its usefulness as you would have to have all the contacts you wanted to select on a single page."

You can use the at symbol (@) in the search box. All your email recipients should have an email address

Honestly, I'd prefer that when people simply leave the text field blank, the search would automatically retrieve all. That would be infinitely easier than explaining to all my users that they have to type in '@' for them all to come up. Not a major concern, but the less I need to explain the better.
