changing from email address

I was going to see if it was possible to include a feature where the user could chose which one of the email address that fwd to his account to use for his from address in zimbra and to be able to switch on the fly.

It would be very important for us since we operate 2 different product lines under 2 different company names and would like to be able to draw a clear distinction between the two.

This is not (yet) easily possible in the Zimbra webgui, other than setting the reply-to address.

One way to do this is use IMAP. So with Thunderbird for example you can setup two seperate accounts and each wil be able to send with a different FROM.

Thats how I do it on my box, I was just wondering if the zimbra gui was going to include this in the future. I think it would be a pretty useful feature.

Yes I don't see it in bugzilla yet but it seems like a reasonable request and something we've heard a few times now.
