Default [SOLVED] Character encoding of folders in WebUI

Hi!

I am migrating a mailbox from another IMAP server (Cyrus) and I have a folder with a foreign character. In Thunderbird and Squirrelmail the name is translated (&AOU- -> å) but in the ZCS Web-UI it is shown as &AOU- instead.

I have been looking in the forum and searched Bugzilla but I have not been able to fins this issue mentioned before. Have I missed something simple? Is there anything I can do to get the correct folder name in ZCS as well, or should I file a bug?

/K

Welcome to the forums,
Looks like you're hitting Bug 23225 - Folder names in non ASCII encoding which we hope to have fixed for 5.0.1
Quote:
If you add a folder via standalone mail client (Kmail in my case) and foldername contains non ASCII characters you get "wrong" (encoded) folder names in Web Client.
In the interim, copy zimbra-charset.jar to /opt/zimbra/jetty/common/endorsed (you may have to create that directory), make sure it's owned by the zimbra user, and restart the server.

Aah, I should have searched also in resolved issues..

The fix works for displaying the folder name in the web-ui, thanks!

However it seems to be something strange going on as i ran imapsync again from the old server and it didn't recognize the "bad" folder and resynced it as a new folder. So I now have two folders in the web-ui, one with &AOU- and one with å... veeery strange.. But I'll just kill the bad folder and mosey along.

Thanks again,
/K

I haven't done anything to the folder yet so.. I tried zmmailbox -z -m user@domain.com gaf and saw the two different folders, one with &AOU- and one with ? where the å should be (might be my charcode in the shell).

Other folders with swedish characters are ok. They weren't transferred until after i tried your fix.
