Default [SOLVED] Sending mail from other zimbra accounts

I've connect to my other zimbra mailboxes via pop3 to my main zimbra mail box so that I wont have to open two seperate browsers to check my mail.

I am able to recieve my messages but I can only send out with the main account.

Is there a way to setup Zimbra to be able to send mail out from different zimbra accounts that are added as POP3 ( or some other way)???

Thank you.

Zimbra will allow you to send mail from any POP3/IMAP or web UI connection. What errors do you see in the log or when you try to send mail?

I don't get any errors. I have user1@domain.com and user2@domain.com added as a pop3 mail. Both are zimbra accoutns. I am logging into user1 and I'm able to check the email for both user1 and user2.

I can't find how I can send mail out from user2 when I'm logged into user1.
Is there a drop down option I'm missing to see?

Instead of doing pop3 why not set user2 as an alias to user1?
Then you can easily select which identity to send from and get all the mail in one location - use a filter if you want to sort the incomming
Admin console > individual user > aliases tab

You'd have to enable 'allow sending from any address' then set up an identity, but setting up an alias automatically sets up/allows an identity to send from.
You could have forwarded as well, (and choosen not to keep the mail locally) but that's just like your pop setup.
Plus, on 4.5.x the web client does not automatically check pop on a schedule, you have to click the 'get mail' button (the RFE for automatic checking made it into 5.0).

I setup an alias to test your idea. I sent an email to that alias and user1 recieved the mail fine. I tried replying back and the message was sent with user1@domian.com not alias@domain.com.

Does Zimbra support sening out emails from multiple addresses? Like in outlook where you can choose the drop down and say "choose this address to send mail out" ???

Yes it does, examine the features tab of the account/cos to be sure identities is enabled.
Then visit options> mail identities in the user account to set the behavior that you want.
(There's another checkbox in preferences to 'allow sending from any address' if you check that the user can enter their own from address - use wisley - you can automatically send from an alias address)

Attached pic of 4.5.x identities.
(in 5.0 it's 'personas' you can checkout the 5RC2 hosted demo see the preferences tab > accounts tab)

Plus, with aliases it only counts as one account -instead of 2 with pop/forwarding- so it wouldn't be using up your license limits if you're on NE

(More/extra info: When the mail identity checkbox is disabled in the admin console, that tab will still be there, but the add/remove buttons in the lower left just gray out.)
