Default Shared calendars

I want to create a shared calendar, but I am not really sure what the best way to do it is. I have never used Exchange, so I have nothing to base this on.

What I want to start with is a simple company calendar that is accessible to all users. Would I set this up in my account as an alternate calendar or would I set it up someplace else?

Thanks

Norm Pollock

assuming that you are the one who will be more or less administering the calendar you would create the calendar under your account and then "share" it with the other users

Thanks, that explains it. I will add the calendar to the correct person's account.

Default ics

you can also export a static calendar (ics) that can be imported into a calendar client like iCal or Sunbird

And, when you are all set up, you may want to consider using the Zimbra calendar in an innovative way. I posted the suggestion a week or so ago; go check out the thread, "Organizational Memory, Meeting Minutes & Search Builder".

Calendaring + Search Builder = Good Stuff.

Default Sharing Calendars to multiple people

Can a calendar be shared to more than one person or "everyone"?

Yes. Yes. There is no way to do this automatically today so you'd need to add each person as a share, but it can be done.

Default Status of Outlook Connector that supports shared calendars

After reviewing many threads, haven't found anything that suggests this feature is supported in the current zimbra connector for Outlook. Just installed Network version on RHEL 4. Was able to update personal calendar via Outlook, but couldn't manage to view/update a zimbra shared calendar. Thanks for any info you can provide.

ZCO version 4.0 supports delegation (sharing folders and mounting shared folders). If you need assistance, please contact support@zimbra.com.

Default Sharing calendars extnerally

I am trying to share calendars with our external clients (non zimbra users) We've tried different variations of the same sort of things firstly we create the calendar, then right click on it and select "share calendar" and then either select "external" or "public" and then either send or share the url provided. But this only seems to work internally in our business. The functionality seems to suggest to us all here, that external and public means non zimbra users, but if so why doesn't it work, it seems quite a simple process, but its only good if it works and three of us here have tried many times to no avail,

any ideas anyone?
