Default Zimbra and Thunderbird

Hi all,
I've recently installed Zimbra Open Source v 5 RC 2 on a Ubuntu Dapper Drake.
I'm using TB as mail clients and I'm facing some problems:
- I can't access mailbox using TB (I've tried TLS, no TLS, SSL on POP3 and on IMAP)
- on IMAP I've a problem with usernames containing wildcards, on POP3 no error and no mail received
- I've configured an Outlook Express account and it works (with or without TLS, SSL on POP3). No problems at all here!

I don't want to leave TB and the set of usefule extension it has...

Can someone help please?

Thanks.

Andrea.

Question Zimbra 5.0 RC2 + Thunderbird 2.0.0.9

Same problem here - IMAP works, POP3 doesn't using TB 2.0.0.9.

Message in /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log:

Same error when using SSL. Other POP3-aware clients work fine.

Default Maybe Domain info?

Hi,
I analyzed a bit Zimbra mailbox.log.
I see something related to my problems with certificates, that I'l ttry to explain:
- my Zimbra server resides on a machine named say mail-server1.mydomain.it in DNS
- my DNS server also resolves mail.mydomain.it with the address of my Zimbra server
- internally and externally I use the same configuration (two differente DNS's) pointing to mail.mydomain.it

The problems I have with this chioce are multiple:
- ssl: issuer of the certificate doesn't match with requested URL
- an exception releted to domain; NOTE that my domain is mydomain.it:
2007-12-03 10:55:32,204 INFO [btpool0-16] [ip=127.0.0.1;] SoapEngine - handler exception
com.zimbra.cs.account.AccountServiceException: no such domain: mail-server1.mydomain.it
Code:account.NO_SUCH_DOMAIN
at com.zimbra.cs.account.AccountServiceException.NO_S UCH_DOMAIN(AccountServiceException.java:131)
at com.zimbra.cs.service.admin.GetDomainInfo.handle(G etDomainInfo.java:49)
at com.zimbra.soap.SoapEngine.dispatchRequest(SoapEng ine.java:345)
at com.zimbra.soap.SoapEngine.dispatch(SoapEngine.jav a:212)
at com.zimbra.soap.SoapEngine.dispatch(SoapEngine.jav a:117)
at com.zimbra.soap.SoapServlet.doPost(SoapServlet.jav a:272)
.....
- in certification management zimlet I can't add aliases or wildcards to my certificate because of some broken part of the program (I've posted a thread in "Installation" section)

It seems that TB dosen't send something Zimbra expects or use with a wrong default value.

Andrea.

Don't think this is the core problem, but I've filed Bug 22467 - POP: command "AUTH" throws NPE to track this...
