    Howdy all-

Very interesting project here... I've been attempting to install an opensource groupware suite here at my company and I've found nearly every package sorely lacking in one way or another; kolab2 is dog slow and has poor architecture, ogo isn't my cup'o'tea, it just rubs me the wrong way, and openxchange has the most dowdy webUI not to mention their Outlook connector isn't at all stable. I won't install Exchange, though my will is weakening as I try all these half-assed opensource implementations.

I sincerely hope that the Zimbra team is currently working hard on the implementation of a low-cost, robust Outlook connector as this is *the* lynchpin for corporate groupware deployments. The sooner this is available, the sooner the success of Zimbra will be guaranteed. You've already put together a nice web interface, and I like the combination of underlying opensource technologies, they are all proven and reliable, but without a way for me to connect my CEOs damn Outlook to the calendar/contact store and allow him and his assistant to schedule meetings, the software is effectively useless for anything other than a cool AJAX demo.

I realize this is a beta, so many things are expected to break, but I wanted to congratulate you on starting strong... It is especially refreshing to have well written architecture and usage documentation available with the release of a beta as well as a seemingly (I've not installed the software yet, so this is based entirely on the documentation) complete administration UI. Hoorah!

Now, if we could get binaries for Debian, life would be good

Ah, I forgot to add that I tested the hosted demo calendaring with Evolution 2.2. The meeting.ics comes across from Zimbra fine, I am able to add, accept, etc. the meeting within Evolution. Zimbra doesn't understand the accept message from Evo though, it simply shows the source of the vcal file in the message window as such:

    Code:

Thanks for the note. I've filed a bug so we can fix this for a future release.
