Default Inbox issues

Very often, I can be composing a mail and I notice a new email has come in.

There doesn't seem to be a way of checking my inbox while composing. I have to save my work, check and re-open. This seems a bit clumsy!

A second problem is that if I delete an email in my inbox, it leaves a "ghost" there, which doesn't go unless I click on "inbox" again. The same thing often happens when moving a mail from folder to folder.

This isn't consistent, but can happen 50% of the time.

Please help us understand a little more. . .is this happening when you use an IMAP client (if so, which one) or in the web client? Some of your description sounds to me more like one, and some more like the other.

Hi, dwntractor. I'm using the web client in both cases. It would be good to be able to "detach" the composition window, like you can a received email...

go to options tab > there's a checkbox for "always compose in new window"

also, if you don't want to 'always detach' you can instead just click in the upper right corner:
