Setting: Default to View by Messages Not Working

When I log on to Zimbra, it always defaults the view to "By Conversation", which necessarily hides the reading pane.

I have gone into Settings (Mail tab) and set "Group Mail By" to "Message". But, when I log in, it still groups the mail By Conversation.

Any help?

changing this setting works for me. hmm, you are "Save"ing the change right?

this should work. which version of zcs are you running?

what do you see if you run this:
zmprov ga [your-account-name] | grep zimbraPrefGroupMailBy

Well, I would be insulted...however, I think that all of us has done that at least once. No, I'm saving the changes.

The OpenSource version, M3, release 346 (running on RHEL 4).

i left out one of these:

when you run that zmprov above, is the zimbraPrefGroupMailBy setting for your account set to message? or conversation? or not set? if still set to conversation, this should change it:

zmprov ma [your-account-name] zimbraPrefGroupMailBy message

but before that, could you turn on debug (which will pop up a window that will show the soap calls), go through the motions of changing it in the web interface again, and attach that soap log here (or pm it to me)
