Default Calendar issues on 4.5.5

One of my users is suffering from Calendar problems.

At any time, the Calendar overview looks correct upon logging in. The dates with events are marked as bold.

However, the moment the date with an event is clicked, all the dates are no longer in bold and the event details are not listed.

It only goes back to normal if the user does a full browser refresh.

Nothing in the log file seems to suggest anything wrong.

The issue just appeared out of no where on one fine day.

The user is using Firefox 2.0.0.5.

I'd suggest you a) upgrade to the most recent version of Zimbra, b) upgrade to the most recent version of FF, c) remove all extensions/skins/add-ins from FF and try to recreate the problem.

You don't say which version of Zimbra this is nor which operating system? Is this also on a linux, mac or windows client? Does this behaviour happen with other browsers? As this issue 'just appeared' it would lead me to believe you've updated something that's causing this problem, particularly as you say a browser refresh fixes it. You could also search through bugzilla to see if there's any reported problems in this area.

A couple of other things. You don't say whether this is a shared calendar or just the user's calendar. You also say 'one user', is it just one particular user? If it is, that would also lead me to believe it's a problem with the user's PC/browser/connection. What, exactly, do you mean by calendar 'overview'?

Dear Phoenix,

It is version 4.5.5.

They have tried to upgrade to 4.5.6 with disastrous results (had to perform a full restore after that)... but they are looking to the upcoming 5.0 release.

It is just one particular user. However we have discounted the PC as the cause as the user's issues remains even when going to another user's PC or laptop.

This has been tested across Firefox 2.0.0.5 to 2.0.0.9.

The server is running on Linux but the users are all running Windows.

The calendar overview that I am referring to is the calendar monthly view that would have the days with activities marked with bold fonts.

Based on your suggestion, I was thinking of doing a theme change tomorrow (in another 12 hours) to see if that would resolve the situation.

Try it with a basic 'sand' theme (I assume you mean a Zimbra theme) and also make sure the user has no add-ins in their FF. Can you confirm if this is a problem in other browsers?

Yes I am referring to a Zimbra Theme change. I will ask them to check if this happens on IE as well. So far it happens on all computers for this particular users accounts. The users are using FF mostly as they find IE to be too slow for Zimbra.

Alright just confirmed that changing the theme does not improve the situation.

As a last resort we are considering to create a new account and find a way to copy over the contacts and existing emails over to see if that would resolve the situation. However how can I achieve that?

Is this the Open Source or Network Edition?

Open Source Edition.

I have enabled the mini-calendar.
Upon logging in, I can see the appointments in the mini-calendar.
Once I click on the dates with appointments in the mini-calendar, it brings me to the calendar tab. Once I am there, I no longer see any appointments.

The same thing happens when I directly click on the calendar tab, the mini-calendar no longer has the appointments.

For both cases, the appointments only re-appear if I refresh the browser completely.
