Default [SOLVED] Change From address on external mail

Hi,

When sending mail from an external mail account such as a gmail address, how do you get the "From" address to show your .gmail.com instead of your local zimbra address. I know you can set a reply to field, but it still shows the local address in the from field.

I'm not really sure what you're asking here. Do you mean when you are logged into your gmail account you want to change the from field or you want to change the from field when it arrives in your Zimbra server?

Sorry for the lack of information,

I'm using zimbra to check my gmail account, and other accounts. When I compose a message using zimbra, I can select which account I want to send from. Let's say I select "user@gmail.com". Well when the recipient gets the email, in the email "From" field, it will say from "user@zimbra.local" instead of "user@gmail.com". There is a way to add a reply to field in zimbra, but it still shows "user@zimbra.local" as the "From" address. I want the people I email to only see the address that I selected when I composed the message.

Check the Admin UI and change the "COS/Preferences/Allow sending email from any address" setting to checked and you can specify any email address you like.
