Default [SOLVED] Mulitple IMAP Accounts with AJAX interface?

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how (or if) the Zimbra Advanced Web Interface can allow multiple IMAP accounts to be shown.

For example, I have a Zimbra server with 2 accounts, bob@company.com and support@company.com. Bob needs access to both accounts from the web interface at the same time.

I see I can add POP accounts, but that's really not what I'm looking for.

Thanks,
Gerald

Why not just log into bob and mount the folders from support? You shouldn't be using IMAP or POP for this.

I don't get it. I want Bob to see all of his email, and all of supports email. I also have Sally who needs to see all of supports email.

How can mounting folders help with this?

Thanks,
Gerald

Unless you specifically need two separate accounts you could easily add an alias to bob@company.com which will allow the support@ mail to go to him.

If multiple users need to be able to access the support@ emails then you could setup a distribution list for the support@ address and have each user listed as a member. That way each user can manage their own mailbox, but the entire support team can monitor the mail.

Just a couple of ideas...

I've done that for a couple of accounts, but I really want this to be a separate IMAP user. Both accounts are hosted on Zimbra, but the interface will only allow me to see one at a time.

If you were to use a straight IMAP client (Outlook, Thunderbird, Evolution, etc) you could simply configure multiple accounts for those users. It would then be up to the user to maintain which mailbox they were looking at.

Another possible alternative would be to use the CLI command zmmailbox to add a mount point and permissions for each user that you want to add, but that could easily turn into an administration nightmare.

Personally, for situations like this I have used distribution lists along with filters and made sure that any mail sent on behalf of the distribution list also CC's the list.

I'd like for all users to see the same mailbox, so that when one user moves a mail from the inbox into a personal folder, another user can no longer see it. Distribution lists won't work for that.

I've done it with Outlook, but it looks like I can't do it with the Zimbra interface. Oh well.

Have support share their Inbox with manager rights to bob and sid and meg (etc.) or with a distribution list that contains them all.

Then bob and sid and meg (etc.) accept the share and presto! they can see support's mail, they can move it into their local folders, etc.

If I may jump in, I thought he was on v4.5.7 not v5 that allows shared mail folders...
