Default [SOLVED] POP3 sending failure :(

Hi.

I'm trying out using pop3 if i can send email out. I'm getting the following error below. However, I have no issues when I send emails using the web interface. it's only in pop and IMPA that i'm having this error (pop port is not blocked btw, and cleartext login is enabled). any ideas?

---

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'francis@domainx.com'. Subject 'test', Account: 'mailhost.domainb.com', Server: 'mailhost.domainb.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 <francis@yceast.com>: Relay access denied', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Hi bangsters,
Take a look at this wiki article and see if it helps:

haven't checked that yet, but from what i observed, if I turn on SSL for SMTP in windows mail it actually sends out, but if I use standard port 25 it doesn't

EDIT: just checked the wiki....I'm using smtp authentication but still wouldn't work...and port 25 isn't blocked...

ANOTHER EDIT: got it to work...looks like i had it set to SSL only in zimbra

Are you trying to use POP3 and SMTP with the demo account? Is that possible?

It times out if I put in demo2.zimbra.com for the server, that's why I was wondering if it's open and allowed on the demo account.

There is a known issue with RC1 where if you do that, and restart the service, the mailbox service won't come back online.

It's best just to leave it be until RC2
