Default Search improvements

I've set up searches to break up email from each of my clients on a domain basis. I also receive automated server reports from some of these clients and I'd like to exclude them from the search so I only see email from actual people. Is there a way to add a "not" to a search?

ie. I'd like the search to be:
- domain "blah.com"
- exclude user blah@blah.com (or exclude subject "insert subject here", or exclude folder "insert folder name here")

I generally send this mail to a separate folder so I could just apply the search to all but that folder, however this would mean I'd need to update the search every time I add a new folder.

Bottom line is that exclusion clauses would be a nice addition to searches.

Justin.

Use "-", for example:

Code:
-from:@foo.com
-from:user@foo.com
-subject:"some subject"
-in:inbox

Fantastic, that's done the trick thanks.

Should there be a "not" tick box in the search builder (for those using search builder) as this is probably non-obvious to most people.

Yes, there should. I just added bug 5129 for this.
