User training experiences?

Hi,

We've got Zimbra up and running, the next stage is to get people actually using it. I'm not really sure what sort of things ought to go in a training session - to me it's all pretty obvious but I suspect that won't be the case for non-technical people.

I'd be grateful if anyone is able to share their experiences with this? How did you encourage people to migrate from their current calendar and use Zimbra? I'd be particularly grateful if anyone is able to share any training materials

If anyone else is interested there is some material to be found, mostly from universities, by googling for "zimbra training".

I would also be interested in getting an external trainer in to train our users - does anyone offer this for Zimbra?

One of the best things we've found to keep the material fresh is timing/doing migrations at the same time as training; or where thick clients/offline storage might be involved-just after. This will require some prep work & coordination depending what their on currently using.

Sharing (calendars/tasks/mailfolders/briefcase/docs/contacts) will eventually draw them into use of something zimbra related; though you need to be able to facilitate it when they do want to move. Thus I would find/establish detailed directions (for technicians or the users if you wish) for every type of calendar people might want to migrate from. (step 1: survey current usage)

Do you plan on supplying the outlook/isync connectors or is this going to be a forced web-client/zdesktop 'one interface only' changeover?
