Default Zimbra very slow today

Zimbra is very slow today and keeps giving me the server is slow to respond errors in the GUI. I know this is a very general question but what can I do to troubleshoot. I have checked the zimbra.log and everything there seems fine what are the other logs i can check? Are there some test i can run? Is there a good bandwidth monitoring tool for fedora mabey someone one the server is hogging all the bandwidth? Not sure what to do just some pointers would be appriciated

thank you

ps I shutdown the server down last night for backup could things be out of sync now??

What's the CPU, memory and disk like? Are there any processes taking up excessive resources?

seems ok guessing it is bandwidth issue of some type but mabey memory is it normal for zimbra suite to eat all ram and most of swap space? I there a way to find out what users are on line and how much resource they are using? ie if one user decides to dump 3 gigs of email into zimbra is there a way for me to see what is going on?

Default cpu is idle

Your cpu is idle. I notice that you've only got 512m ram? That's the low end of the supported range - if you're serious about your mail system, you should bump that up.

I know i know I will up the ram but budget is limited right now. did some calling around and zimbra seems to work fine everwhere but here a my location. Phoned isp and there is no problems reported in any area today but i am guessing it is location specific. Not exactly sure what is going on thanks for the help hope it is just a bad inet day.

if you think about it, please use the "CODE" format for posting column-aligned data like that...it makes it MUCH easier to read when it shows up in a fixed-width font.

You can mark text as "CODE" by highlighting it and then clicking on the little hashmark "#" in the font bar.

Here's an example:

Normal paste from vmstat:
procs -----------memory---------- ---swap-- -----io---- --system-- ----cpu----
r b swpd free buff cache si so bi bo in cs us sy id wa
1 0 6704 279724 12792 334584 2 1 28 27 17 21 28 1 67 4
1 0 6704 279796 12792 334584 0 0 0 0 1022 295 50 0 50 0
1 0 6704 279796 12800 334576 0 0 0 116 1026 299 50 1 50 0

Formatted as "code":
Code:
procs -----------memory---------- ---swap-- -----io---- --system-- ----cpu----
r b swpd free buff cache si so bi bo in cs us sy id wa
 1 0 6704 279724 12792 334584 2 1 28 27 17 21 28 1 67 4
 1 0 6704 279796 12792 334584 0 0 0 0 1022 295 50 0 50 0
 1 0 6704 279796 12800 334576 0 0 0 116 1026 299 50 1 50 0
Which one would you rather read/debug?
