Default [SOLVED] How do YOU create groups from your contacts?

Hi,

Well I give up. I can't find a good (convenient) way to collect addresses from my contacts into a contact group. When I search while creating a new group, the results are limited because I have 200+ contacts.

Anyone?

Cheerio,

Tag'em, then send to everyone with that tag. Beats maintaining a contact group list.

But if you tag 50 contacts, how do you select those 50 people for a new message?

You would still have to type in their names, no?

Nope,
Compose a new message.
  • Click the "To".
  • Search for tag:"eMailCustomer" and everybody tagged eMailCustomer shows in the search results.
  • Use your choice of To, CC or BCC to move them from the results pane to the recipient's pane.
Make sure you tag your contacts appropriately to start with and you'll never have to manually maintain a crummy Contact Group again.

Ooh! Thanks for the tip, that's a good one! I was unaware of how to search for tagged contacts!

Cheers,

BRILLIANT! this way you have dynamic updates when you change contacts emails without having to re-visit (and change) contact groups. thanks you so much for this tip I am a new user and was seriously thinking of going back to Outlook. Not now!
