Forum Spell-checking Problem

I just clicked on the spell check and it prompted me to download iespell, and when I went to allow the pop-up, it ERASED THE TREAD I JUST SPENT AN HOUR WRITTING.

YOU GUYS ARE FRUSTRATING ME TO TEARS!
Put a warning up, fix it or get rid of it!
THIS IS INTOLLERABLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What, exactly, are you talking about? Installing spell check in your browser has nothing to do with us, you should have installed it before writing your post.

If you are having a problem with Zimbra we'd be more than willing to help but little outbursts like this don't impress.

thanks Bill, but you didn't loose the message.

The spell check button is on your interface: just up on the right. Once you've pressed the button, it's too late. So "Installing spell check in your browser has... " everything to do with you. My site runs a spell check.. no install necessary. You could run the message in a that retains the information is you navigate away for whatever reason

That; after a day of constant frustration with getting this system to work.
Please consider why the outburst before partronising. I know you guys a very good at offering help, so I'd rather you just address the issue.

I'm sure I'm not the first to fall victim to this.

Thanks for the heads-up, we'll have to check if we have any control over this dialog (attached).
-Then advise people that they may loose the content of their IE windows while installing it.
-Or if we can edit vbulletin to direct to a new page and run the installation from there.
Powered up my windows box w/ IE v7, created a new thread, hit spell check:

Can someone post a screen shot of the spelling feature on our interface using IE? We've never had any reports of this, so I'll check it out.

lmnau, If you can't tell-most of use use firefox or something else (there's no check spelling 'button', you can just the built in browser spell check)

(even ie4linux doesn't exactly work the same-lol)

IEv7-shows up like the below (then you get the above message from my other post).
-Spell check is in the standard (default) or full editor, not the basic editor.

Can we check what build of ieSpell is installed with our version of vbulletin?-they might have already fixed it/redirect to a new page for the install.
Even though ieSpell's most recent build is 10/31/2006....

OK, yes browser version can definately be an issue, and I do most of my browsing on a WIN box with IE6. So if that is my bad... Sorry.

It's just that as a support issue... I have to go with the crowd.

But from what I know about HTML, this problem would not be limited to IE6.

As a support forum, we should support most browsers. IE 6 is still considered by many as a modern browser. We still support it in Zimbra.

Regardless, I am working to disable this "feature", and apologize for your trouble.
