Clarification about wikiwords ability to form a link

I have seen this feature.I would like to understand more of it from working point of view.
"WikiWords" in web Documents automatically create links to other web Documents referenced by the WikiWords.This ability of wikiwords is governed by ajax based mail client or Zimbra server?Does the mail client handles this or server give this ability to the wikiword.?

My understanding says:this ability is provided by Mail client and zimbra server has no role to play here.

If any one can correct my understanding about the ability of wikiwords it would be helpful for me?
