Please also share how to avoid imapsyncing the shared folders.

i don't remember but I think I went for http and not for https as https was continuously having problem with zimbra connector.

Secondly, if EXIM uses LDAP, then u can have the passwords of all users in hash form and can restored after migration of data...

u can't, the spammers pretending to be from the same domain, will have a clean entry.

All u have to do is ask SA to blacklist mails from *@example.com and ask users to send email on 465 with...

you can never get away from this problem, unless to make the *@example.com blacklist when coming from 25 port. No matter what you implement, stuff like RBLs etc but this issue will not be solved...

MX is even required for the local domain in zimbra.

Try service named start, if you are at linux

well, I have an very good under standing of this issue.You can achieve this very easily.
Only MUAs will be sending mails with mail from xyz@example.com, isn't???
No MTA will be sending mails from...

if u r not looking to restrict the user, I mean user can deliver email but mail server shouldn't entertain it. Then you can make the mail server not access the DNS server, and should get only access...

issue is with DNS server.
your mail server can not get the answer of the query made to DNS server.

Why do you need zimbra in distributed environment?
Do you have specific reason for implementing it, may be about number of users etc???

did anyone enabled the zimbra's ldap on 389 and 636 (SSL) Simultaneously.
I have default settings and have ldap on 389, and wanted to make it work on ssl i.e. 636.
