I have started to help out on the translation. See Index of /zimbra for patches. It'd be nice to have svn access (see separate thread), but the patches are at least named after the revision to which they apply. Note that they are not cummulative, zimbra-no-577-3.patch won't apply if -1 or -2 is applied first.

I am probably doing things very wrong by posting files like this, but I think it's bad that I'm the only one with access to my work.

So here are my files once again, this time including ZmMsg_no.properties, and with newer version of the other, allready translated files, due to some typos.

What I have done is to transform the existing Norwegian translation in SVN to 6.02, so that the Norwegian files are identical to their English counterparts.


Yet to be done:
ZMsg_no.properties
ZsMsg_no.properties

The following are things I have been uncertain of (Mostly regarding ZmMsg_no.properties):

Wiki = Wiki
Call = Anrop
Body = Meldingskropp

Både Preferences og Options og Settings er inkonsekvent oversatt enten med Alternativer og/eller Innstillinger. Forslag:
Preferences = Innstillinger
Options = Alternativer
Settings = Innstillinger

Card Message = Kort-Melding? (Høres ut som det motsatte av lang melding. Hva er konteksten?)
Feed = Nyhetsmating
Persona = E-postidentitet
Spam = Søppelpost
Junk = Søppelpost
IM = Lynmelding

Linje 1996: Jeg tror det er skrivefeil, har fjernet _ fra _private =
Linje 1335: Jeg tror det er skrivefeil, har fjernet _ fra _import =

Buddy = Venn

link = lenke (Burde det vært kobling?)

Share = Deling (Substantiv)

Device = Enhet

Provisionable = Et eller annet som er relatert til sikkerhet og mobiltelefoner (og e-post?)

noFreeSlotFound = No free time slots found with on selected week range = Ingen ledig tidsperiode funnet innenfor valgt tid ?

Linje 1902: placementLabel = Placement: Hva betyr dette?

These files are, by the way, tested in a production environment.

I just added the ZmMsg_no.properties.txt. (Remember to remove .txt). In this file, æøå is converted to ANSI. This is not the case with the same file included in the zip-file.)

Ellers er jeg enig med link som lenke, direkte oversettelse og veletablert

Provisionable betyr "klar for fjerninstallasjon" eller noe. Ordet er fra tid til annen (feilaktig?) lånt til norsk, "provisjonering".

placementLabel er etter hva jeg kan se "plasseringsmerkelapp", dvs hva skal den skrive der den ber om plassering? Jeg tror det rett og slett blir "plassering" (under eller over epost etc).

Ellers er jeg enig med forslagene

Just sharing info about this thread. Since there have been some progress. Translation is now moved to Github: https://github.com/Flums/Norwegian-Zimbra-Translation

The reason for moving it away from SF was no commitment from Zimbra to help people getting moderator/write access. I've also filed a bug (RFE) for norwegian language support: https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=67600

There is also a irc-channel called #zimbra-no@Freenode where you can talk with me. I am also availeble on Skype if anyone want to get in touch with me. Skype name is philipgabrielsen

Please vote for bug, and PLEASE, contrib to translation on Github. All commits will be dragged into master, and i monitor this stuff on a dayly basis.
