Default Whatīs the better way: Z-Push or Funambol?

    Hello,

I read very often from two ways of synching mobile devices, with Z-Push or Funambol.

I have tried successful Z-Push with Zimbra 7.1.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. But I also read that it is not recommended to run Z-Push on the same server like Zimbra.

Is this also valid for Funambol?

Did anybody tried both solutions for synching mobile devices? Can we say that one of this is the better solution?

I used them both for a while, but I was not satisfied.
Funambol has several synchronization problems, it often causes duplication and it needs an additional client. Z-Push seems to have fewer problems but suffers from implementation limits, perhaps caused by the use of PHP.
Now I'm using ZxMobile an extension of Zimbra mailboxd, it's integrated in Zimbra enviroment. It's a commercial solution but with a reasonable cost.

    Cheers

Thank you Federicio for your opinion. I have tried ZxMobile and itīs indeed very easy to deploy. I think it could be a very good solution.

From an administration point of view I found Funambol a complete nightmare. It could well work fine for what it was originally intended but with Zimbra it made a mess of users appointments and contacts which was then down to me to sort out.

    I wouldn't recommend it.

Second that... Tried for a long time to find a suitable (more like "stable") setup for a production environment but I never managed to do so.
    See ya,

Well, you have to evaluate and make a decision..,

Funambol got a few cause lack of updates, then we have Z-Push!

Z-Push, in my case win! easy to deploy, to configure, to admin..
