iOS 4.3.x and CalDAV account: newly added shared calendars not visible

Hi everyone,

One of our customers raised an issues with CalDAV accounts on an iPhone 4 (and possibly also iPhone 3GS). He indicates that when a new calendar is shared with the user (using the Zimbra webmail) the calendar does become visible on the iPhone, but it stays empty (it doesn't seem to synchronize).

He tested this and it turns out that when he uses 4.2.x it does work correctly, but when he uses 4.3.x this problem occurs.

At this time I don't have an iOS 4.3 capable iPhone at my disposal, so I am not able to replicate this at the moment.

Does anyone have any similar problems? By the way: our Zimbra version is 6.0.10

same effects here. we just installed a trial of zimbra to sync some iphones. neighter the "activesync" method nor the caldav calendar sync for just the calendars works.

starting to think that zimbra isn't the product of choice to offer platform independent syncs between devices.

You might want to test with other calendar servers. There are a couple open bugs on bugzilla related to iOS CalDAV, and they all seem to be bugs in iOS:

Bug 56351 – Appointments in folders with an apostrophe do not show up in iOS over CalDAV
Bug 48849 – CalDAV account on iPhone 4 not working as expected.
Bug 54370 – Caldav and Apple iOS 4: iOS 4.2 doesn't snyc default calendar "´Kalendar" (German version)
