Mobile lookup of contacts in shared address books

We've got a big shared address book in my organization, and users would like to be able to look up contacts from their mobile devices. Copying all the contacts over to the user's account is awkward, since the duplicated entries don't get automatically updated.

Is there any app for iPhone/Android that can look up contacts in a shared address book?

If you use CardDAV, that might work. You could also test the mobile web interface, or research Aderium Companion.
