Default Sync existing contacts and appointments from iPhone

Hi,

When we connect a iPhone, or iPad to our Zimbra NE with Activesync. It seems only the contacts and appointments are synced from zimbra to the phone. The contacts already on the phone are not synced to zimbra. What are we doing wrong?

You need to get the contacts into a contact group which is synced with Zimbra. Do you have separate "local" contacts and Exchange contacts?

I don't have "local" contacts on my i-device so I can't test.

Back in the days of iOS 2, you couldn't have separate local & Exchange contacts, so people had workarounds like iPhone Contact Sync/Merge. Maybe that will suggest a solution.

So it seems there are 2 addressbooks on a newer iPhone and you cant migrite one to the other without using iTunes. That's a lot extra work for us, but we'll have to love apple, don't we.
