Default No ipad or iphone app? Weak...

I'm an IT admin just hired by our schoolboard. We're currently using Zimbra but I'm surprised that there isn't an iphone or an ipad native app released for it -- I did see a partial app listed under addendium, but it seems pretty crippled (ie. no e-mail.)

Any app in the works?

Thanks.

The ipad and iphone work directly with Zimbra via active sync. We have both iPads and iphone deployed all working great!

What do you need an app for? Zimbra provides email, and there is a fully functional Mail app on the iPhone.. and like billywyatt said, the Network Edition supports active sync, so you have all contacts and calendars in sync 100% of the time, using them native to the phone. An app wouldn't be able to make that scenario any better.

Zimbra also have developed a fully functional web interface for the iPhone have you tried that? Its not an app but frankly I don't see the need when you have such a good online interface.

If you need offline access and integration with the inbuilt calendar and contacts then look at any of the paid for editions as they have activesync support which works flawlessly with the iPhone and can be setup in minutes.

Even without ActiveSync, you can get offline access to mail and calendar using IMAP and CalDAV setup, respectively.

Once the wrinkles have been ironed out of CardDAV, Contacts should also be supported even in the FOSS edition.

And you can save the Zimbra mobile link from Safari as a desktop icon, and you have instant Zimbra app.
