Default Andoid not recognized as a mobile device

We've had several reports from Android users claiming that the Zimbra Web server doesn't recognize the Android as a mobile device and kicks them to the full Web page by default. Moreso, if they explicitly go to the mobile page and click around they sometimes get booted back to the full-featured Web page anyhow.

Is there any way to add to the list of devices that are treated as mobile devices by default?

The issue seems to be very similar to the one that drupal ran into:

Android 2.1-2.2 not a Mobile browser | drupal.org

Thanks,

Chris

It certainly works for my Android HTC desire using the inbuilt browser or Opera mini and it goes to the mobile version of Zimbra login, which version of Android is installed on the phones?

All that I have is their HTTP_USER_AGENT string, unfortunately:

Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-us; Nexus One Build/FRF91) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1

Is there any way in Zimbra for admins to add strings as mobile devices like was done for drupal in the earlier link to address the same problem? Or is this something that would need to be added by developers to the base code?

Chris
