Default HTC Incredible Android cannot send email

I've not seen much talk about the HTC Incredible with Zimbra. I have two HTC Incredible units that we activated with ActiveSync (MS Exchange support) to our Zimbra servers run NE 6.06. The contacts, calendars and mail seemed to sync just fine. I can receive mail, respond to calendar request, see GAL, etc. However, when I send an email...it just sits in the OUT box. This work with IMAP servers but not with Zimbra running ActiveSync.

We installed a couple Android MarketPlace apps (RoadSync & TouchDown), they both are able to sync and send mail. But we'd like to use the standard interface.

Any ideas? We really like what we see...but not with this issue.

Default HTC Incredible

Hi, Let me know if you have figured it out. I have tried , talked to HTC, all to no avail, I am using Touchdown right now to fill the gap.

I can receive and everything syncs fine.. Just no sending!!!

Thanks

Default HtC Incredible Active Sync issue

Yea, Zimbra Server is fine... I think that HTC has the issue, although they are unaware of anything..

I have tried every different way to get it to work.. Im sure that eventually it will get figured out by someone!!!

if its the same problem that was affecting the htc hero and eris i think, it might be fixed in 6.0.7. Someone created a patch for zimra ot fix it in 6.0.6 you can read it in the bug report Bug 41145 – Support for HTC "Work Email" Android app for ActiveSync

It is a HTC problem whith utf8, but i think htc will nerver solve the problem, because they
support Exchange communication and no Zimbra...

So i think zimbra must solve the problem alone...
I have a HTC Tatoo and i have the same problem since zcs 6.0.5...
The problem was not solved in 6.0.6... and i have not seen a road map for solving the problem in 6.0.7 ...

It is very problematic in France, because HTC is the leader Android Phone...

This is the bug report (as mentioned earlier in this thread) and details of the targeted release are in the Product Portal.

So no way to get the patch for a 6.0.6p1 server before 6.0.7 is released? I think they really need a package management system for zimbra to download minor patches like this so we all don't have to sit around and wait for a major patch release :S.. or is this already possible? If so let me know how... :S -

Nothing worse then knowing there is a fix / patch but you have to sit and wait days / weeks / months for the fix to be released in an official patch

Thanks!
