As I have alluded to a few posts up - if you see undefined "soap:Envelope" it most likely means z-push is not talking to the zimbra web server. Check your URLs manually.

Default Problems after upgrade to version 7.1.4

I made a terrible mistake. I have upgraded my Zimbra server to version 7.1.4, and now I can't send normal mail through Zimbra backend.
When I send the mail, it looks like this (scrambled):
    Code:
    "Marko Bra"@xxx.xx

    to undisclosed recipients
    i " <mbrscic@xxx.xx>
    Message-ID: <29A4F4C0-7492-4C94-A25D-53CEE700D43E@xxx.xx>

    To: =?utf-8?Q?Marko_Br=C5=A1=C4=8Di=C4=87?= <xxx2@gmail.com>
    MIME-Version: 1.0

Mail name From is also incorrect, I doesn't have Croatian signs. Receiving in HTML works fine and looks normally.
    I have Zimbra backend ver. 51.7 and Z-push 1.5.6-954.
Only errors I see in debug is about MIME, but that was even before the upgrade.
    Please assist...

Thanks, found my config error and it now works.

Did need to recreate accounts on devices, in some cases it did not work until created on others I got 2 copies of folders.

Is there any issue with using an IP address for the URL instead of fully qualified. Would eliminate problems for me.

I've got everything up and running as good as can be expected, my only issue relates to multiple calendars which is an ActiveSync problem which can't be solved, so many thanks to everyone who helped me get it going and for this wonderfull piece of software.

As a final touch I'd like to secure things a little more and set the correct permissions on the z-push folder, leaving only the necessary files writable and securing the rest.

Right now everything is owned by www-data and is pretty much open. Can anyone tell me which octel to use on all files and which ones need to be world readable and which ones need to be www-data writable.

    Thanks

Happy you got it all setup.

The interesting thing is it can be solved. iPxxx devices support multiple calendars natively through activesync. And, the latest trunk code also supports this ability by not virtualizing calendars if it detects an iPxxx device.

They also allow multiple individual Contacts Folders to be synced.

Beware though that allowing these to sync individually increases the backend load caused by zpush, as it has to make individual requests to the backend for all individual folders.

Before Release 52 is out, I will likely add an option to disallow the multi-features from the config file for this reason.

Did you get this sorted? I was going to upgrade to 7.14, but decided to wait after your post.

Yes. It has nothing to do with 7.1.4

The issue was the user's lastname had Croatian language characters in it, and with a mix of encoding/language settings between their zimbra desktop setting/php settings/OS settings the non-ascii characters in their Zimbra Display Name were not being interpreted correctly. This was breaking some of the parsing logic used to identify the parts of the email.

A solution was found for the user to use the sendasname setting - and to populate it with a MIME-encoded version of their name.

As they are using SmartFolders, I added a new sendasname directive to the *SyncConfig* settings. It will be available in Release 52

Ok so this may be a stupid question but still new to Linux.

How do I setup my server to download and run the new branch of software so I don't have to wait for the next major release

    Thanks

I don't understand the question. There will always be a next release on the horizon with software.

If you are talking about z-push, I would not consider trying to run z-push-2 for a few months yet. It is still not stable enough for production use. And, I have not released a compatible backend for that reason.

If you mean the zimbra backend. This is the first user report of the garbled name issue, and I am pretty sure it is caused by the mix of encodings/languages the user has to deal with. Zimbra doesn't natively support Croatian. So I would not be holding back just because of this issue.
