    I'm looking for a bit of help with regards to contacts and an Android phone.

    I'm not getting all contacts to sync, and have to enable and disable the exchange contacts a few times for the sync to start and continue updating.

    The other problem is that all contacts from all address books are syncing into one. I have one main personal and 2 shared address books. Preferably, I'd like to specify only my main address book to sync, or failing that, be able to use the groups function in the android to separate them.

    From a little reading, I can see that a user.xml feature has been implemented. Can this be used on contacts as well as email, and if so, is there a howto for creating the user.xml

    Thanks,

    Mark

    Default Alias wont work

    It seems i have an issue with getting the Alias for /Microsoft-Server-Active-Sync to work.

    Basically if i go to exchange.mydomain.tld/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync via http or https i get a error idicating teh alias is not set.

    I`m running z-push on CentOs 5.x within its own openVZ (100 MB ram) with the host beeing exchange.mydomain.tld and zimbra on webmail.mydomain.tld

    I use teh latest z-push (imho 1.6) and the latest zimbraBackend(imho 45) without provisioning.
    Its also a HTC Touch Pro 2 with WinMo 6.5.3 (zimbra Appliance synch works) just z-push copnnected to doos does not.

    here is my httpd config:

    Code:
    <IfModule mod_ssl.c>

    <VirtualHost exchange.my.domain.ip.adr.ess:443>
            ServerName   exchange.mydomain.tld:443
            Alias Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync "/var/www/html/z-push/index.php"
            Alias wierd1 var/www/html/test/wierdo.php
            ServerAdmin  "my mail"
            DocumentRoot /var/www/html/
            CustomLog  /var/www/logs/access_ssl_log alog
            ErrorLog  /var/www/logs/error_log
            SSLEngine on
            SSLCertificateFile     /var/www/certificates/exchange.mydomain.tld
            SSLCertificateKeyFile  /var/www/certificates/exchange.mydomain.tld.key
            SSLCACertificateFile   /var/www/certificates/exchange.mydomain.tld.chain

    </VirtualHost>

    </IfModule>

    <VirtualHost exchange.my.domain.ip.adr.ess:80>
            ServerName   exchange.mydomain.tld:443
            Alias Microsoft-Server-ActiveSyn "/var/www/html/z-push/index.php"
            Alias wierd1 var/www/html/test/wierdo.php
            ServerAdmin  "mymail"
            DocumentRoot /var/www/html/
            CustomLog  /var/www/logs/access_ssl_log alog
            ErrorLog  /var/www/logs/error_log
    </VirtualHost>
    my z-push config looks like this:
    Code:
    [root@exchange z-push]# pwd
    /var/www/html/z-push
    [root@exchange z-push]# ls -l

    Not sure if it will make a difference but I have:

    Alias /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync /var/www/zpush/index.php

    No quotes and a slash before Microsoft.

    Your Alias directive is also missing a c at the end of Sync

    I've also noticed it's case sensitive when you put the settings in the phone, so make sure that you have the double capital in "ActiveSync".

    Got me a few times.

    RyecoAaron & gtr33m, ty for the quick reply.

    I was missing for both Alias Commands the / (:443 & :80) and the c of ActiveSync (:80)
    Alias /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync "/var/www/html/z-push/index.php"
    it seems to work with both "" or without "" for the path to the directory.

    Edit: It still throws a 0x80072F0D error, but i', pretty sure that is because of the SSL Certificate beeeing selfsigned.
    Tho it does not change even after i exported it from firefox, renamed it from *.cert to *.cer and saved it on my phones Flashdrive, then opening thereby installing it on my machine (shows up under my phones root certificates)

    Edit2: Fixed the 0x80072F0D error by adding the sync website to trusted sites in IE8, then browsing to it clicking on teh certificate error --> view error --> install certificate and then saving the certificate as a *.cer file. I then copied it down to my mobile device and installed it by opening it.

    Now active synch throws the following error:
    "Exchange ActiveSync has encountered an error. if conditions persists, please contact your Exchange Administrator [ 0x80830002 ].. still looking into what the issue might be.

    Edit3: The google search only found error 0x80830002 in con junction with this thread on XDA-developers.com, which talks about aborting sync when the mail size is too big. (with regards to MS Exchange). Then i checked more closely and it seems to be that there is for a very short time a "syncronising folders" message before active sync says it cannot work. I tried to sync both via Wifi and via HSDPA

    Is there any way to check if Active Sync on my mobile actually connects propperly ?

    Edit 4: According to this thread here:
    5.5.*Configure Z-Push (Remote ActiveSync for Mobile Devices)
    I am supposed to get:
    *GET not supported*
    This is the z-push location and can only be accessed by Microsoft ActiveSync-capable devices.
    I can login with my Zimbra mailbox credentials, however i do not get this message displayed. If i enter a wrong credential i get told i entered wrong credentials.

    Edit5: I just managed to get it to work. Synched all my contacts/mails.

    What i basically did, was remove the z-push install. and get the latest z-push 1.5.1 beta and the latest zimbrabackend (imho revision 46), made the same edits as i did before according to Push email, contacts and calendar with Zimbra 6 Opensource & Z-Push – ActiveSync | slashdevslashnull.com I`m not sure wether it was either the z-push i had (1.4.2) or ZimbraBackend (Revision 45) or a editing error i made.

    Anyhow, ty for the help

    Default iPhone and push working from time to time

    Hi all,
    I have installed z-push (1.4.2.) and the zimbra backend (Rev 45) last week and all was working as expected during the first hour.

    After some times i have noticed that some mails are not pushed to my iphone (i have the same behavior with the calendar events). When I check the emails "manually" (i mean by clicking on the mail icon of the iphone) all the missing mails are showing up.

    It looks like that's a push problem. Someone with some experience with that issue on the iphone ? Mine is a 3GS with iOS 4.1

    I am using Zimbra OSS 6.08 (SSL, commercial cert) and z-push is installed on a Centos 5.5 32 bits (PHP 5.3.3/Apache 2.2.3, with no virtual host).

    Thanks a lot
    Guillaume

    I don't have an iPhone to test with - but can we start with the basics.

    Have you enabled logging ? (If not, please do. create a debug.txt file in the z-push root folder, and chmod 777 the file. z-push should start to write to it.)

    What do you see in the logs ?

    For a normal ActiveSync connected phone, you should see sets of logs like this when it is "ping"ing folders.
    Code:
    10/08/10 14:10:29 [2423] Initializing message diff engine
    10/08/10 14:10:29 [2423] 1 messages in state

    10/08/10 14:10:34 [2423] PROVISIONING: getDeviceRWStatus( user=[xxxxxxx] pass=[<hidden>] devid=[nnnnnnnnnnnnn] )
    Note: You won't see the PROVISIONING line if you have set it to false in config.php

    If you are not seeing these lines then the phone has stopped pinging the server for some reason.

    If your phone is not pinging the server - check if there are any errors reported in your

    /var/log/httpd/ssl_error_log

    Please post back your findings.

    New Release of Z-push Zimbra Provisioning application package posted to SourceForge - Release 47

    Please note - this does not change the ZimbraBackend Release - it is still Release 45 at time of postinge.

    See https://sourceforge.net/projects/zimbrabackend/files/

    This release corrects an issue with a blank line being output before HTML header directives breaking the pages in the case where output_buffering = Off in the PHP.ini file

    In my installation the default setting was output_buffering = 4096 and I never saw this issue.

    Default Messages and Folders not appearing

    Hi All,

    Guillaume, I'm not sure if I'm having the same experience that you are .. perhaps you could share a bit more [and whether you resolved the problem]?

    I tried the same libraries that you used, and then again last night tried z-push 1.5beta (with zimbrabackend Rev45 && _NO_ provisioning).

    I see in my debug.txt log the list of folders, i see the login from the device.

    I see in my apache logs the login + the request for "OPTIONS", yet the device errors out saying "Cannot Get Mail - The connection to the server failed".

    ....... [03/Nov/2010:01:36:20 -0400] "OPTIONS /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync HTTP/1.1" 200 2 "-" "Apple-iPod/705.18" .............
    ....... [03/Nov/2010:01:36:21 -0400] "POST /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync?User=xxxx@xxx&DeviceId=Applxxxxx&Devicy pe=iPod&Cmd=FolderSync HTTP/1.1" 200 318 "-" "Apple-iPod/705.18"

    I thought perhaps that it might be a volume issue (IE : too many folders or too many emails), but checking a much smaller account the same issues appear. I'm running on Ubuntu 8.0.4LTS (self signed cert), zcs-6.0.5_GA_2213.UBUNTU8.20100202225756, with both an iPhone 3GS (iOS 4), and first generation iTouch

    Any guidance on tracing this down would be greatly appreciated.

    Tim.
