@Vooba - the contact sync with Z-push/ZimbraBackend, i assume this should push local contacts stored in the webmail? Or the GAL? Or both?

i know theres an ignore emailed contacts variable, i turned this to false to try and push these address to my iPhone - no luck.

Am using Zimbra 6.0.2 OSS, Z-push 1.3 RC and the latest SVN checkout of z-push. Email works, calendar/contacts do not seem to me? But would like to know quite what funationality i should be expecting

Tried it with a blackberry and notifysync, I really wish the zimbra backend had more info.

My results with z-push 1.3rc and zimbra.php v. 1.4 backend.

Email seems to work perfectly.
Contacts seem to work perfectly.
Calender haven't got to work yet.
Tasks don't appear to even be available on this phone.

hi,
unfortunately I have currently no time to work on the backend. At Z-Push Zimbra Backend you can find some information.

Any one manage to get this working with an iPhone? I tried about a month or so ago, emailed seemed to work if i created a new account with nothing in it, calendar did...but the bit i wanted most, contacts didnt.

Does the contacts just sync the GAL? Or should it sync all the user account specific contacts? Just curious to know quite what its supposed to do, before i go hunting something that doesnt exist

Thanks,

iMx

hi,

it should sync all users contacts of all address books, but I cannot test it, because I have no iphone. I tested it with different systems (WM 5, WM 6.1, WM 6.4, Mail for Exchange (Nokia), Roadsync (Symbian 60), Android SDK 2.0 and 2.1) and contacts worked out of the box... With Mail for Exchange new contacts would be duplicated, if they are created on the phone...

On all devices no item exists at the first sync. probably there could be some errors in your case... if you want, i can have a quick look at your debug.txt file...

Hey Vooba,

Thanks for the reply, have just set it up again using Z-push 1.3 RC2 and your latest piece of code:

- Email works for some folders, however Inbox possibly too large? Sent/Spam work fine.
- When trying to browse the Inbox i get 'Cannot Get Mail The connection to the server failed'. However, i try Sent and it can connect and retrieve.
- No contacts at all
- Not enabled calendar

Would be great if you could look at my debug.txt, where should i send it?

Thanks,

iMx
