Default Read status not preserved when migrating from Domino to Zimbra

Hi,

I'm in the process of migrating a couple of mail accounts from a Domino server to Zimbra, and after fixing the LDAP settings in Domino the migration tool imported one of the accounts I tested with.

One problem though, every mail is now unread, instead of having the read / unread status the user has set. These users are using read / unread as an indication of importance and to tag mails that needs to be followed up, so this is kind of a showstopper.

Is there anything I can do to make the migration tool work properly, or would you rather recommend that I import the mail through IMAP?

Thanks,

Vegar Nilsen

Hi,

Domino migrator also migrates read/unread flag along with the message.

Can you give more information: Which Domino server and Lotus client, What version of migration tool.

It would be great if you can isolate one sample message in an NSF for our investigation.

Regards,
Manish

Domino Server 6.5.3 for Windows/32 (Running on Windows Server 2003)
Notes client 7.0.1
DominoMigrationWizard-4.5.5_GA_831

I'm not really familiar enough with Domino / Notes to know how I can provide you with a sample NSF, sorry.

Thanks,

Hi,

Can you confirm if the users you are migrating are using Notes client? or do they access their mails using IMAP?

They are using the Notes client to read mail. I've tested syncing the mail with imapsync now as is suggested on the wiki, and this works, preserving the read/unread status. (The only problem with imapsync seems to be that it downloads every message each time I run it, making it impossible to perform an initial sync before shutting down mail and then syncing the last mails after shutting down delivery. A bit of a bother, but it will work.)

Thanks,
