Default Backup and Restore Zimbra OS Version

I tried all the steps in Zimbra's Wiki to backup and restore the server but still having problems trying to restore the backup.

I'm using latest ZCS open source version for Ubuntu.

Some description of your problem might help in pointing you towards a solution. Which version, exactly, are you using?

Thanks for your reply,

I'm using version 4.5.4_GA_763_UBUNTU6

I'm copying my zimbra folder in Server1 with its permissions (cp -rp) to Server2 (In both server I'm using Ubuntu 6.10 and Zimbra 4.5.4_GA_763) following the steps on Zimbra's Wiki. But it still saying "UPGRADE FAILED - exiting" after I ran the upgrade process. And the wiki says that it will work if I rerun the script.

Server1 & Server2
Ubuntu 6.10
Zimbra 4.5.4

I followed the steps in the Wiki on how to backup/restore ZCS OS version. But it doesn't work the restore part, zimbra is still giving me errors when I tried to restart the services.

I suggest you do the whole restore again. When you've copied the /opt/zimbra directory to the new server and before you do the 'upgrade' I suggest you run zmfixperms by doing this:

Code:
chown -R zimbra:zimbra /opt/zimbra
/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmfixperms
when you've done that make sure that the uid & gid for the zimbra user on the new system is the same as it was on the old system. When that's done try the upgrade again. If you get any errors then post again before trying any other recovery steps.

You many need to uninstall. The .deb packages may have become corrupt.
