Default Exchange mailbox migration to Zimbra 8.04

    Hi,

I was planning to move my 3 exchange mail boxes to my new zimbra mail server. We are using the exchange mailbox on lease and don't have the exchange server admin credentials. What I was thinking is creating my domain on the zimbra server and then repointing the MX to my new server.

Can i use the PST file for migration?
Please let me know on how I can accomplish this. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

If you dont have exchange admin credentials then you can export the data from each mailbox to a PST and use PST import wizard for the migration. Its good and convenient for you to keep same username and domain name on zimbra server as well. There is an enhancement for the new PST import wizard PST migration: Few appointments migrated have wrong organizer name so please use old PST migration wizard if your exchange username and zimbra username is different.

    Hope this will help.

Thanks Prashant for your valuable advice.

I am planning to use the ZCS Migration Wizard for Exchange/PST (32bit) tool in Tools and Migration menu under Zimbra Administration.
I had a question though. Shall I proceed with this migration after I change my MX record and Namservers or that can be done later after i finish the account migration?

    Best Regards.

Its better to get zimbra server up and running in every aspect(MX,DNS, Mail Send/Receive etc.) before starting the migration.
