Default Migrate from Exchange to Zimbra?

We currently run our email on a managed MS exchange platform. I'd like to migrate my 15 or so email accounts from Exchange to Zimbra, but do not want to lose all the emails for each account. My users currently use both POP and IMAP as well as exchange webmail to access their accounts.

What is the best way to migrate the accounts as well as all the data from Exchange to a Zimbra environment?

Default Migration

From what I read, all i need are the email user account usernames and passwords to be able to migrate everything? Assuming there are thousands or emails in each account it'll likely take a considerable amount of time correct?

I have no admin access to the exchange server, just user access.

If you don't have admin access on the exchange server, I believe you need to use the PST import tool to migrate mail. Just get yourself the PST files for the users you need to migrate and then bang away at it. Doesn't take that long.

Hi,

Just few questions:

- Is Zimbra migration tools freely available? Or how can a I get it to use with the OpenSource version of Zimbra?

- Does the tool imports Calendar entries, tasks, and Exchange public folders to some equivalent/similar location in Zimbra?

Thanks for any feedback.

The Migration Tool is available with the OSS edition of Zimbra, you can get all your answers in the documentation here.
