zimbra:~ zimbra$ zmslapcat
usage: mkdir [-pv] [-m mode] directory ...
/opt/zimbra/bin/zmslapcat: line 46: /ldap.bak.20060216112911: Permission denied
cp: /ldap.bak.20060216112911: No such file or directory

The funny thing is - the actual Zimbra app seems to be working wonderfully I was just looking into playing w/ backup and ran into these issues.

was /tmp/ldap.bak populated?

You still haven't said where the output in your original post came from.

Yes it's populated.

Sorry, the output came from the script in this post:

Full Server Backup and Restore of “open source version”

Well, I didn't write that script, so I'm not sure what's going on with it - but did you run it as the zimbra user? After su - zimbra?

Well that's ok - I'm more looking for support from the script writer - I realize this isn't your responsibility to support - but I appreciate it! And yes I ran it after logging in as zimbra.

I've tested the backup script on Zimbra GA on CentOS 4.2 and it works fine for me. The problem you're seeing must be specific to MacOS. Unfortunately, I don't have access to a Mac so I can't help you any further. Sorry.

Yeah, all my Linux boxes I build run CentOS 4.2, and I've installed Zimbra on plenty of those and they work great. Unfortunately, CentOS doesn't have a GA PPC version or else I would have installed that on the Xserve I have available to me

Default Password for LDAP

The script is asking you for a password because it is doing an su - zimbra before running slapcat. I guess the writer is assuming you will run as root. If you run as zimbra user (and perhaps have no passwd set) then it prompts you. At least that is what it does in my case.
